Book Review: The Right Fight

Another Young Hoosier book down! This time, I read a book about a guy that enlists in World War II after the bombing of Pear Harbor.

The Right Fight
by Chris Lynch

The Right Fight (World War II, #1)

Roman is a star baseball player, but that fight is no longer the RIGHT fight for him.  After Japan bombs Pearl Harbor during World War II, Roman decides to enlist in the army.  He leaves behind his family, his teammates, and his sweetheart, Hannah.

Roman forms bonds and friendships with his fellow soldiers while training in Northern Ireland.  He learns to be a whiz at driving the tank, and with his group, they travel around the coast of Europe to North Africa to attempt an attack on Germany by heading up through France.

Roman deals with losing friends, fighting a bloody battle, and learning what truly IS the RIGHT fight.

This story is a GREAT retelling of World War II from a specific viewpoint.  There are few books that discuss those men who drove the tanks and wandered through the desert in North Africa.  This book is also at a lower reading level, so those war books that struggling readers typically shy away from can find solace in this novel that is short and at their level.

I definitely recommend this book to lovers of books that deal with the struggles of war, struggling readers, and of course, boys.  Pick it up now!

This book is the first in the series by Chris Lynch.  Make sure to check out the rest!

Here is #2 out of four total:
Dead in the Water (World War II, #2)
