Book Review: The Hunted

Nothing like a good continuation of a zombie-like book...especially where all the kids are fine, but the adults are the sickos!

The Hunted
by Charlie Higson

The Hunted (The Enemy #6)

Ella has escaped the sickos...but she is the only one.  When she runs into ScarFace, she thinks her life is over--this adult will kill her.  But he doesn't.  Instead ScarFace takes care of Ella, and when their farm is attacked, Ella realizes ScarFace CAN talk...and he is only 15.

Together, the two must survive any way they can.

On the other hand, Ed (Ella's brother) is still in London, but determined to find his sister.  He rallies a team together to search for her and bring her back to safety.  But nothing ever goes to plan.  Will they be able to locate Ella with no evidence of her travels? Will everyone who set out survive the SICKOS?

This 6th installment of The Enemy series is chilling, to say the least.  We FINALLY start to understand what happened to spread this disease turning anyone over 16 into zombie-like creatures.  We have two different stories happening at the same time--Ella on one side, and her brother Ed on the other.  You are left in suspense wondering if the siblings will EVER see each other again.

This story is VERY gory and quite violent, so I suggest you read with caution.  Yes, they are killing zombies, but make sure you are old enough to handle what's happening--it MAY give you nightmares!

Regardless, Higson is an incredible writer and I can't wait for the next, and LAST book in the series!
