Book Review: Fairest

Marissa Meyer has come out with a new Cinder book! YAY!!! SQUEE!

Fairest
Marissa Meyer

Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles, #3.5)

Three books later, and we finally find out the story behind the story of Queen Levana from Luna.  Meyer takes us back to when Levana was only 13 years old, the things she went through, losing her parents, watching her self-centered sister become queen, and the only man she loves married to another.  We come to understand a little more about Levana and why she may be the way she is.

Meyer is a master.  This series is one of my favorites, and this quick bridge book for her Cinder series is such a great historical account of Levana that I read it nonstop...this IS a shorter story (about 200 pages), because this is a reflection of Levana's life--get it? reflection? she hates mirrors! I crack myself up.

At any rate, our wish is FINALLY fulfilled! We find out what Levana looks like and why she looks the way she does.  It is a killer reason!  We watch as Levana comes into her glamour powers and manipulation causing everyone to do exactly what she says.  You just want to scream at her and tell her all the ways she could make better choices, but, left to her own devices, she makes mistakes that end up costing millions dearly.

This haunting tale is not technically part of the series, but is absolutely necessary to read! I JUST put it on the shelves last week. Come and get it!

And the LAST book of the series comes out this fall!!!!!
Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)
