Check out this new book I ran across in a Webinar, found out MCPL has it, and I read it in 3 days!

Lost by Sarah Beth Durst is an incredibly engaging tale of Lauren, who has lost something...but she doesn't know what.  Fleeing the results of her mother's medical tests, Lauren finds herself swept up in a dust storm that spits her out in a town called Lost.  Lauren soon realizes there is something very "off" about this place.  Come to find out, the town is full of people who have lost something, food that people have lost or forgotten, and other knick knacks that end up in the town when someone in "the real world" forgets about it.  The Missing Man, the only person who can help the people of lost, has disappeared and Lauren becomes the scapegoat.  Lauren must team together with "The Finder" and a six year old girl to find what has been lost, and to locate the Missing Man.

This book is actually not Young Adult Fiction, but general Adult Fiction.  However, the language is tame, there are no sexual situations, and the voice of the author throughout the story is smooth and entertaining.  I suggest everyone read this book ASAP. It IS a trilogy, and the second book, The Missing, comes out in November.

Twister Tournament!

Announcing the first ever, Twister Tournament!

If I Stay

WOWZA! I just finished If I Stay by Gayle Forman in just 2 days! A quick read, this novel is sure to impress.  Mia has a wonderful life--great family, loving boyfriend, and the chance to play cello at Juilliard.  When a freak car accident rips Mia's family apart, Mia (soul survivor and apparition) must decide...do I stay? do I go?

And the thrilling second book of the series....

This book is for the FIRST NHS book club Thursday, September 11 in Mr. Lanctot's room after school.  Read the book already? Now watch the movie that just came out in theaters.

Check out the movie trailer (Grab some tissues first!):
